| Become a better
photographer in beautiful surroundings along the
coastline of Eastern Finnmark
(Arctic Norway). We invite you to join
our workshop to be based at
Hornøya Lighthouse on 2 – 5 August. Here
we will spend lots of time together with puffins
and other seabirds on one of Norway’s
undisputedly best bird cliffs. The puffins are
busy bringing food to their young during this
special time of year, which can make for some
very special pictures. The Midnight Sun is also
beautiful to behold such that we should be able
to look forward to many wonderful photographic
experiences in the natural splendor of Northern
Norway. Some of the
theory we will spend time discussing at this
workshop will be related to:
- Composition and layout of
pictures
- Action
photography and panning to capture images of
puffins, guillemot, etc.
in flight
- Use of camouflage and
mating calls
- Landscape photography and
macro techniques
- Planning a photography
project
- Photographic expression in
your pictures
- Image processing in
Photoshop / RAW file conversion (as a reserve
method if the weather turns bad...)
You will have ample
opportunity to discuss things you are wondering
about directly with the course
leader while we are
out taking pictures, which we will spend much
time doing. Much emphasis will be put on
reviewing pictures taken by participants after a
day of taking pictures. We begin on Thursday 2
August at 17:00 with transport via boat over to
Hornøya Island. The course will officially wrap
up Sunday 5 August at 13:00 with lunch and
course conclusion. All food, lodging, lectures
and transport during the course are included in
the course fee.
